Stop loss and take profit

These two orders are your exit plan, and having them is what separates trading from gambling. Entry is an easy decision — anyone can make it. It is the exit that determines your result.

The stop loss

An order that closes your trade automatically at a level you set in advance, converting an open loss into a known, limited loss. It is not an admission of failure but a known price you pay for the chance at a larger gain.
