The simple correction ABC

When divergence appears at the end of the motive wave, the most likely correction is simple and quick, of three waves we count as A B C. Its most famous form is the zigzag, a sharp, slanting correction that cuts a clear distance against the trend and then ends.

The structure of the three waves

• Wave A — the first push against the trend, breaking the calm of the previous impulse.
• Wave B — a partial rebound in the direction of the original move, weaker than A and usually not exceeding its start.
• Wave C — a final push against the trend, usually exceeding the end of A and ending the correction.
