The winning mindset and “the zone”

When the right beliefs combine with discipline, you reach a state Douglas calls “the zone” the zone: a complete harmony between you and the market, in which trades flow without inner conflict, and you do the right thing automatically without resistance from fear or greed.

Confidence and harmony

True confidence is not a certainty that this trade will win — that is an illusion — but a certainty that you will act correctly whatever the market does. This confidence is not granted by the market; it springs from the alignment of your beliefs and attitudes so that you go through the experience, bear its results, and extract wisdom from it, without harming yourself.
