Dealing with a losing streak

Trading Psychology — Lesson 10 of 11

No edge wins every trade. And as long as the distribution between winning and losing is random, consecutive losing streaks are inevitable, not a flaw in your system nor a punishment from the market. The difference between the professional and others is not in avoiding these streaks, but in how they get through them.

A losing streak is merely a temporary dip within a rising path, as long as the edge is in your favour and discipline is preserved. Illustrative diagram — not real figures.
