Profile types: session, visible range and fixed range

The logic is one, but the range over which you compute the profile differs. Three types you meet on the platforms, each with its use.

The three types

• The session/periodic profile Session Profile — a profile for each separate time period (a day, a week). A stack of successive columns, useful for comparing value from one session to the next and tracking its migration.
• The visible-range profile Visible Range (VPVR) — computes the profile over everything shown on the screen, so it changes automatically whenever you zoom or move the chart. Quick for catching the active nodes in the current view.
• The fixed-range profile Fixed Range — you choose a specific range by hand (a wave, an accumulation, from a low to a high) and it computes the profile inside it only. The most precise type for targeted analysis, since it isolates the volume in the area that concerns you without mixing it with what is adjacent.
